About Me

Fourteen Years of Impactful Education, Grounded in Research

With over 14 years dedicated to educating students on the perils of underage drug use, I bring a wealth of experience and expertise to my work. Having spent 12 of those years traveling the globe, providing school-based drug prevention education for a company, I've had the privilege of engaging with diverse communities and cultures. Just before the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, I made the bold decision to venture out on my own, driven by a passion to further impact the lives of young people through personalized and effective prevention strategies.
My approach to drug prevention education is grounded in research-based prevention topics that cover a wide spectrum of crucial issues. From employing the social norms approach to addressing the safety and abuse of substances like alcohol, tobacco, marijuana, and prescription medications, I equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate the complexities of substance misuse. Through interactive sessions, I delve into topics such as recognizing signs of teen substance misuse, developing refusal skills, and understanding how drugs impact the teenage brain and body.
In addition to educating students on the direct risks associated with substance use, I also emphasize broader concepts such as media literacy, risk and protective factors, and healthy coping mechanisms. I provide practical guidance on how to help a friend in need and offer parenting suggestions aimed at reducing risk factors at home. With a holistic approach to prevention, I empower students to make informed decisions, foster positive relationships, and strive for personal growth both on and off the field, because in this game of life, every decision counts and every goal is worth pursuing.
